I think so far we have completely stressed the fact that you have very little storage space in your college dorm. This is why organization is so important. It will help keep everything in order and allow us to utilize all of our space, even space you might not have realized was there.
First, let’s organize our closet. You CANNOT fit all of your clothes in your dorm closet, so make sure you bring the items that you will actually wear. I would recommend getting a hanging shoe rack of some sort, you can hang it on the back of the closet door or one that fits in the closet. You also could get a hanging mirror for the back of your closet door. As I discussed in the previous storage post, get those velvet hangers. They are not bulky so they save some space and nothing slides off of them!
Next, let’s talk under the bed storage, yes… again. Whatever type of storage bins or draws you choose to put under your bed, I recommend keeping similar items in the same draws. For example, maybe you have extra school supplies in one draw, tolietress in another, makeup and hair items in the next and so on. Also, get a completely sealable bin for snacks and food you plan on keeping in your room, we don’t want any unwanted visitors sharing our snacks if you know what I mean.
Lastly, keep your desk organized! Get some desk organizers, you can put pens, pencils, maybe some makeup brushes for the ladies, etc. If you want get some kind of cork board or white board for above your desk to keep reminders and important information on. Try not to clutter your desk with too many items, will actually use the desk in your room.
I hope this helps!
Happy Dorming!
